Weigh in Wednesday (4)

Weigh in Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren over at Epilogue Review, where we discuss one thing vs. something else, and we say our view on it

Today's topic: Peeta vs. Gale

Answer:
Easy one! Team Peeta all the way! It's not that I don't like Gale, it's just... okay, I don't like Gale. I think Gale is a very impulsive character that although he cares for Katniss, he doesn't stop to think how things will affect her, and if he does, his impulsiveness takes any worry or problem away in his mind, I think.
Peeta is completely different, he's caring, sweet, adorable... and the fact that Josh Hutcherson (my all time celebrity crush) plays him makes it a lot better. Seriously, ask anyone how I screamed when they announced Peeta's casting news.
So yes, Peeta is the winner by far, and... agh, Gale just makes me SO angry.

But then Peeta comes along and makes it all better.

Weigh in Wednesday (3)

Weigh in Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren over at Epilogue Review, where we discuss one thing vs. something else, and we say our view on it

Today's topic: Novellas vs. Anthologies

Answer:
Well... I really haven't read either one.
BUT if I were to choose one, I'd say novellas. Because most I've seen around Goodreads and blogs are novellas from a bigger series, like The Iron Fey, or Shatter Me. So if it's a series I like, I would probably pick the novella.
I wanna give both a try soon, though. It'd be interesting to read something different every once in a while!

Todays topic: Love Triangles Vs. Insta-love

My answer:

Ok, I'll be honest. I'm a sucker for love triangles. Seriously. But not if they exist for too long. Like, let's say Jace, Clary and Simon from The Mortal Instruments. That love triangle exists for a while, but then it sort of fades away.. *SPOILER ALERT* and he finally ends up with Isabelle.. hopefully they'll stay that way. But then we have others like Jacob, Edward and Bella from Twilight, and that love triangle DOESN'T DISAPPEAR! oh, my gosh, I hated that one! I mean, it does disappear at the very, very end of the series, but ughhh it was so annoying.

And I don't really like insta-love. It makes the relationship and the whole plot seem completely unreal. And I like books that make me feel that what I'm reading is real, you know? It's hard to explain. But let's take Patch and Nora from Hush, Hush. They fell in love in like 3 minutes! (Maybe that's just me, because I read the book in about 3 hours). But I didn't like that at all! It's actually one of the reasons why I gave up on the series.

So, to sum it all up:

LOVE TRIANGLES FOREVER!

Weigh on Wednesday (1)

Weigh in Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren over at Epilogue Review, where we discuss one thing vs. something else, and we say  view on it

This week's topic is: Books vs. E-book

Andrea's opinion:

Hmm.. this one's hard. Well, not that hard but I feel bad when I prefer something else over my Kindle :( It's been so good to me.

Okay, so to start off... I live in Mexico. So, 1. We don't get books the day they're released, and 2. We get them like TWO years later, unless they're really, really popular, and 3. They're in SPANISH. I don't dislike reading in Spanish, but it's just so weird. Most of the books we get here are translated in Spain, so obviously the Spanish is a tad different, but also the Spanish people use in books is like fancy Spanish. I would never, ever talk like that. So, if it was written in English, I prefer reading it in English. If it was written in Spanish, I prefer reading it in Spanish. Simple.

So, basically, the story of my Kindle is that I once went on a trip with my dad to the U.S... And I sort of brought back with me about 15 books.

So obviously my bag weighed like a thousand pounds... So, basically we stopped at a Target and bought a Kindle that was on sale, and he said "This is so that you read everything on here, and do not buy any more print books". He, he, he. I might've ignored that last part a tiny bit.

Don't get me wrong, I adore my Kindle. It's been so awesome having one, I've been buying books all the time, I can get Amazon bargains, etc. BUT... Just going into a Barnes & Noble, or Target, or Wal-Mart... I can't ignore print books. I just can't. They're too beautiful to ignore. Seriously. I went to Target and saw Embrace by Jessica Shirvington and The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan, I couldn't ignore their beautiful beautiful. And when I went on Goodreads and saw they actually looked pretty awesome.. well, I bought them.

So all in all, I love my Kindle, I think it's one of the greatest things that exist, BUT I very much prefer a print book, only because one of the greatest pleasures of reading is holding a book, and changing pages, and smelling the book...
